Special Interest Clubs
The 1938 Society program also includes additional donor giving clubs, whose purpose has a special meaning to its members and contributors, who direct their charitable support to a specific program or area of interest. These donor groups include:
The Scholars Club
Henry Ford Community College has among the most affordable tuition in the area, but many students remain challenged with the costs associated with their education. Members of The Scholars Club provide important support for these students through the establishment of an endowed scholarship (a $10,000 contribution) or annual scholarship ($1,000 minimum annual contribution for five years). All members of The Scholars Club are invited to the annual spring Scholarship Recognition Event, where donors have the opportunity to meet the appreciative students who have received their scholarship support.
Women’s Circle of Philanthropy
This special group was formed to attract accomplished women who contribute at least $500 each year to the Women’s Circle of Philanthropy fund. Membership provides these donors with the opportunity to work together to advance HFCC educational opportunities; meet and network with others with similar interests; and focus their efforts to benefit programs, facilities and scholarships for HFCC students. Members are invited to regularly-scheduled programs featuring unique and engaging topics and speakers, all with the goal of fellowship and building a strong, philanthropic network.
The Patron Society
Supporters of art, music and culture have long been identified as “patrons” and in keeping with this tradition, donors who contribute at least $500 each year to the College’s Fine Arts Program are members of The Patron Society. The extensive number of HFCC musical groups, choirs, ensembles and performers are the beneficiaries of this charitable support. Patron Society members receive issues of Cue Sheet, the program newsletter, and are invited to a reception preceding the annual President’s Collage Concert to be recognized for their support of the College’s Fine Arts Program.
The Hawks Booster Club
Supporting student athletes participating in one of HFCC’s six varsity sports is the focus of The Hawks Booster Club. Donors may direct their annual gift of $300 or more to athletic scholarships, training or facilities. Hawks Booster Club members are invited and recognized during an annual reception held before a Hawks’ home game or match, where donors can meet coaches and members of the Athletic Department staff.
The Bricklayers’ Association
Helping build a strong foundation at Henry Ford Community College, members of The Bricklayers’ Association are recognized with an engraved brick in the campus’s Central Courtyard for their contribution of $100 or more. All funds are earmarked for HFCC’s Campus Improvement Fund, to upgrade and improve facilities on campus for students and all campus visitors
