Introducing HFCC Foundation Scholarship Challenges
Make your ‘Challenge’ Gift today!!!

Henry Ford Community College Foundation donors recognize the importance of scholarships to students striving to complete their education and move forward in their career goals. To encourage additional charitable support, many donors will issue a ‘challenge’ to other HFCC contributors…individuals, organizations or companies…asking them to make a contribution to a deserving scholarship fund. Currently, the Foundation has three Scholarship Challenge opportunities:

  • The Fordson Varsity Club Endowed Scholarship Challenge – This scholarship is directed to a graduate of Fordson High School in Dearborn who has participated in a varsity sport while in high school and has enrolled at Henry Ford Community College. Preference is given to a Fordson graduate who is also a member of one of the College’s six varsity sports. An annual award is made to the student to assist with his/her college expenses.
  • The Lebanese American Heritage Club Scholarship Challenge – The Lebanese American Heritage Club has generously provided scholarship funds for 13 students to attend Henry Ford Community College for both the current academic year and for the 2009/10 academic year. The Club is seeking to enhance the scope of this scholarship by seeking additional philanthropic support.
  • The Rotary Club of Plymouth A.M. Scholarship Challenge – The Rotary Club of Plymouth A.M. is sponsorship this scholarship for the 2009/10 year. Three students will receive scholarship awards…with the
opportunity to increase these awards through additional contributions.

‘Challenge’ opportunities such as these can maximize the impact of a donor’s gift by leveraging this support with others who share a common interest. These three Scholarship Challenges offer a unique opportunity to enhance both scholarship and scholastic excellence at Henry Ford Community College. Please contact John Lewandowski at (313) 317-1700 for more information or make your ‘challenge’ gift online.
