About Us

For nearly 70 years, Henry Ford Community College has been serving the educational needs of hundreds of thousands of people who want to improve their lives, enhance their capabilities and achieve their dreams. If it were not for HFCC, people from all walks of life representing more than 30 countries from the far corners of the globe would be unable to obtain the type of first class education opportunity they receive on our campus.

Over 25,000 such varied students pass through our college every year. They choose from hundreds of different programs. Some come to gather the credits so they can go on to colleges and universities and obtain their bachelor, masters, or other advanced degrees. Others obtain trade and technology certification or receive updates on skills that enable them to move immediately into well paying jobs in business and industry. Still others come to HFCC just for the fun of it. They take courses in computers, cooking, travel, dance, music, wine tasting or other options to broaden their horizons and enrich their lives.

One common thread that seems to be woven through the vast majority of our students is the desire to improve themselves and their lives. Fortunately, many of them receive scholarships or financial assistance to make it possible for them to realize their goals.

Yet, there is a growing need to find additional sources of funds and to develop scholarships so more deserving students can get the education they need today to compete in the demands of today’s economic environment.
