Completed in fall 2008, the World Languages Center (WLC) is comprised of two parts.  First, there is a Language Laboratory Classroom with projector and screen, 30 student computer stations and one linked instructor station.  Students can work individually, in pairs, or one-on-one with the instructor.  With a headset and microphone, each student can strive to perfect his or her pronunciation.  Students can also proceed through course material at their own pace, dividing their time among grammar, reading comprehension, listening and/or oral exercises.  The second area of the Lab is an adjacent Language Study Area that includes comfortable living-room-style seating in front of four flat screen televisions with access to international satellite programs only; eleven individual computer workstations plus an additional computer station for a staff member, and a three-table conversational/study area.  Students can move from station to station, in small groups or individually.  This configuration allows for optimal instructional flexibility and maximal student learning.
