Meet Your Representatives

Chair: Lisa Fakir Vice Chair: Ronald Filloon

I ran for Student Council to attempt to bring the students on this campus together - with some sort of unity.  The diversity of HFCC is a great asset to us all.  We need to take advantage of this reality and use it to learn and grow as a community.  My goal, being chair of Student Council, is to encourage and motivate the growth of the student body as a whole.  I love the students and I love this school - I will do everything in my power to make positive changes while I am in office.

I ran to represent the minorities.  I wish to vouch for the late night, older, quiet, outcast and nerdy students.  Also, I am here because once I believe in an idea that will better the school, I will fight a bloody, uphill battle to see it through.  I would like to see this school have more pride in itself.  We may be a community college, but we are one of the best in the nation.  It is high time we start acting like it.  I wish to increase student participation in activities and clubs.  Part of building up community is ridding ourselves of the commuter aspect of our school.  This is a work currently in progress.

I feel that as a community college, the students need to make an effort to get their voices heard more than they would at a university.  Our school is small enough that ideas can be processed and steered by the administration, but students cannot be apathetic or shy about issues of concern.

I really wanted to meet new people and get involved in different activities and just put myself out there to help other shy people like me get their opinions heard!  I would like to change the way students here think about school.  It shouldn't just be about getting in and getting out.  I think that everyone should get involved in something not matter how bit or small, just to be active and involved is very important! Doing things to better the school can make you feel better about yourself and it can be fun!

I wanted to get involve in the campus in an active and beneficial way.  I can help students to become excited and confident about their experiences here at HFCC.
