The Co-op Partnership

Co-op

Cooperative Education is an academic partnership in which the college and the employer join to provide the student with a method of learning which integrates work experience and classroom instruction.

Employer Responsibilities

  • Provide supervised work which complements the student’s educational and career goals.
  • Evaluate the student’s job performance.
  • Provide the student the same consideration of health, safety, and working conditions, within the state and federal guidelines, accorded all other employees.
  • Reserve the option of extending permanent employment until the conclusion of the program because cooperative education is a training experience.

  • Fulfill all terms of employment.
  • Attend required class sessions and complete all course requirements.
  • Abide by the rules, regulations, and policies of the employer and the college.
