The Student Activities Office (SAO) organizes and oversees student clubs and activities at Henry Ford Community College.   The staff assists students with club formation, event planning, fund-raising ideas, and the promotion of events.

Student activities complement formal classroom instruction and enhance the overall educational experience by helping students develop leadership skills, communication skills, organizational techniques, as well as an increased understanding of self and others.

Student Bulletin
The Student Bulletin is a SAO publication that informs the HFCC community about current events, student clubs, and volunteer opportunities. For information, contact the Student Bulletin Editor, Michele Featherston, at 313-845-9865.

Voter’s Registration
SAO provides on campus Voter’s Registration and conducts Voter’s Registration Drives. Forms are available at the Student Activities Office, Welcome Centers, Office of Financial Aid, and the Registrar’s Office. SAO provides the service of mailing completed Voter’s Registration forms to respective city election clerks.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service
The Student Activities Office coordinates volunteer activities to commemorate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Students, faculty, and staff members are encouraged to participate. Various activities such as renovation, educational, and social projects are available. This is a day of community service, education, and reflection.

Special Events and Activities

The Students Activities Office works with students, faculty, and staff to plan and implement special events and activities at the College. These events and activities provide socialization, educational information, and promote involvement at HFCC.

Volunteer Opportunities
The Student Activities Office provides information on volunteer activities, on-campus as well as in the community. Many worthwhile opportunities are available.
