Sometimes students have personal concerns that affect their ability to be successful in college.
These concerns may range from difficulties with parents, children, or significant others to substance
abuse or serious mental illness. Although counselors can't solve your problems for you, they can
provide the support that can help you to solve your problems.
If the concern is beyond our scope
of expertise, such as serious substance abuse or mental illness, we can offer you some appropriate
referral sources and help you to take the first step towards recovery.
If you wish to see a counselor for personal counseling, please ask the Counseling receptionist to
book a one-hour appointment so that the counselor will have time to explore your concerns. You do
not need to tell the receptionist the nature of your problem.
In order to see a counselor
call 313-845-9611 (or 845-9612) or send
an email with your name and telephone number and we will contact
you regarding counselor availability.
