Campus Safety Safe Walk Program
Mark LaBerge
Director of Campus Safety & Security

WHAT IS SAFE WALK?
An integral part of a safe campus is the involvement of students in their campus community. Safe Walk is a student sponsored safety escort program created by the Student Government in cooperation with the Office of Campus Safety.
ADDITIONAL EYES AND EARS
Safe Walk student volunteers provide an escort to any student or staff member who requests it. Safe Walk volunteers are trained and dispatched by the Office of Campus Safety and serve as additional eyes and ears on campus.
CALL SAFE WALK...
You don't have to walk alone at night on campus. Safe Walk volunteers can provide an escort from your class or office to your vehicle or anywhere else on campus. Just pick up any emergency phone locatedin the lobby of most buildings -or- call 9911 on any campus phone and request an escort. A Campus Safety Dispatcher will contact a Safe Walk volunteer or Campus Safety Officer by radio and send them to your location.
SAFE WALK STUDENTS NEEDED
Safe Walk students are always needed. Student in the Safe Walk program are paid and work a minimum of two patrol shifts per week during the fall and winter semesters. Other times can be arranged.
Safe Walk students are trained and supervised by the Office of Campus Safety. Students must pass a background check before being allowed into the program. Contact the Office of Campus Safety for an application or more information.
