Maintaining Your Status

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
Successful completion of a secondary school program that is determined by HFCC to be at least equivalent to a U.S. high school diploma. External examination results and certificates may be required. Transcripts must demonstrate to the college’s satisfaction average or above average grades.
All foreign Secondary School credentials must be evaluated by Educational Credential Evaluation (ECE) or World Educational Services (WES).
Successful completion of the GED examination is acceptable proof of high school completion.
ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS
Students from countries where English is not the primary language will need to demonstrate proficiency in the English language. English proficiency must be demonstrated by a TOEFL score of 213 or above, MELAB of 80 or above, or successful completion of the HFCC ESL placement test.
If you do not pass the ESL test, you may attend our English Language Institute before being admitted to our college.
FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS
International students in the U.S. are not eligible for financial aid sponsored by Federal or State governments. Other types of financial aid are not normally available and international students should not plan on receiving financial aid as p art of their funds.
