New International Student Requirements

Obtaining a Student Visa
Henry Ford Community College is proud to host international students from all over the world. Henry Ford Community College has been authorized under federal law to admit non-immigrant alien students.
In order to process an I-20 the following documents need to be submitted to the International Student Advisor
INTIAL ENTRY F-1 REQUIREMENTS If you are not currently in this country or seeking change of status from another non-immigrant visa:
(Fall Deadline: June 1, Winter Deadline: Nov 1)
- Completed HFCC Application (PDF)
- Application fee ($30 U.S.)
- Student Information Form
- Copies of pages from your passport (photo, passport # & exp. date)
- Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL score of 550/213,or mandatory ELI attendance)
- ECE or WES Evaluation of Secondary School and/or College Transcripts
- All foreign Secondary School and College credentials must be evaluated by Educational Credential Evaluation (ECE) or World Education Services (WES).
- For Secondary School credentials: If selecting ECE, you must request the General Evaluation report. If selecting WES, you must request the Document-by-Document Evaluation.
- For College credentials and transcripts: If selecting ECE, you must request the Course-by-Course Evaluation. If selecting WES, you must request the Comprehensive Course-by-Course Evaluation. You must request that the ECE or WES evaluation of college credentials be mailed directly to Henry Ford Community College at the address listed on the Admission Application.

- Original Secondary school transcripts, external exams, and/or certificates (translated into English) OR
Official college/university transcripts (translated into English) - Proof of financial responsibility:
- Affidavit of Support (Form I-134); if your sponsor is a U.S citizen/Permanent resident.
- Original Letter from a bank showing funds of at least $16,600 U.S. dollars in an established account.
($4,600 for fulltime Canadian commuters - Part-time commuters must pay tuition in full prior to receiving an I-20 - Students may show personal funds; Additional $ amount is required for dependents) Please include an email contact where account information can be verified.
REQUIREMENTS FOR F-1 TRANSFER STUDENTS (Deadline: Two weeks prior to start date) If you are a student who has an I-20 from another U.S. institution:
- Completed HFCC Application
- Application fee ($30)
- Student Information Form
- Official college/university transcripts from your current school
- ECE or WES Evaluation of Secondary School and/or College Transcripts

- Copy of I-94 and Visa and pages of your passport showing photo, passport #, & exp. date)
TUITION AND FEES
Tuition and Fees are payable to Henry Ford Community College at the beginning of each academic term.
