Scholarship Opportunities From Outside Organizations

 

Please Note - The outside scholarship announcements on this page are provided as a service. These scholarships are not administered by HFCC. You must contact the individual organizations below to apply for their respective scholarship.

Many organizations outside of Henry Ford Community College offer scholarships to our students to support their educational needs. These scholarships are awarded by the particular organization to students who are pursuing a particular field of study or who meet other specific criteria. Students interested in pursuing these scholarships should follow the application protocols identified by the different organizations, as detailed below. 

Scholarship recipients are selected by the outside organizations; it is the student's responsibility to work with the organization regarding scholarship payment. Outside organizations can make checks payable to Henry Ford Community College and the organization/student should submit the check to the Financial Aid Office to be applied to the student account. Henry Ford Community College does not administer these scholarships; any questions should be addressed to the awarding organizations.

Below is a sampling of available scholarships.  Students are encouraged to research other opportunities that exist in a variety of trade associations and not-for-profit foundations and civic organizations.

AES Engineers Scholarship

Scholarships are intended for future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. For more information visit www.aesengineers.com/scholarships.htm.

AICPA/Accountemps Scholarship

Scholarships are intended for students who aspire to a career in accounting and finance. For more information visit www.accountemps.com

American Cancer Society

Cancer survivors age 20 or younger may be eligible for the Great Lakes Division Foundation Young Survivor Scholarship Program. More information is available at www.cancer.org/scholarships.

Coca-Cola Scholarships Foundation

Scholarships are available to students of two-year institutions who demonstrate a commitment to community service.  Information can be found at www.coca-colascholars.org.  Click on the Apply online/Two-Year Colleges Scholarship link.

 

Datatel Scholars Foundation

A variety of scholarship opportunities are available to students at Datatel client organizations, which includes Henry Ford Community College. To be eligible for this scholarship, you must apply online here. Application deadline is January 31st.

Executive Women International

Scholarships are available for women in transition through the Executive Women’s International Association.  Information can be found at www.executivewomen.org. Or, download a PDF of the application.

Fifth Third Bank

Grainger Tools for Tomorrow Scholarship

Scholarships are available for second-year students enrolled in a technical education program at the associate level.  Technical Education Program means a program of study leading to an associate’s degree or licensed certification in electronic systems, heating/air conditioning, plumbing, welding, automotive, construction or other industrial trade.  Apply through the HFCC Foundation at www.hfcc.edu/scholarships.

 

Hispanic Scholarship Fund

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund offers a variety of scholarships including the Community College Transfer Scholarship and Gates Millenium Scholars. More information is available at www.hsf.net/scholarship/programs.php.

Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education

The LIFE Lessons Scholarship Program benefits students who have suffered the death of a parent or guardian. For more information visit www.life-line.org/scholarship.

National Association for Legal Professionals

Scholarships are periodically available to students who are interested in careers in the law and/or criminal justice.  Information can be found at www.nals.org.

Speciality Equipment Market Association

If you are interested in a career in the specialty automotive industry scholarship assistance may be available through SEMA. Visit www.sema.org/scholarships.

The Sallie Mae Fund Scholarship Programs

Adressing financial need through scholarships is a key priority of The Sallie Mae Fund. Sallie Mae offers several scholarships including First in My Family, Unmet Need, American Dream, Community College Transfer, the Writers of Passage and the Sallie Mae 911 Education Fund. The University of Michigan - Dearborn
