Butter creme Icing Recipe:

Combine in a large mixing bowl:

Four cups sifted confectioners ( powdered) sugar
One cup regular shortening (Crisco, etc.)
6 tablespoons cold water

Beat ingredients together on medium speed until evenly blended. Cover bowl with saran wrap. Please DO NOT refrigerate – refrigeration is not necessary. Your frosting cannot spoil. Refrigerating your icing will make it too stiff to work with in class.
